What we collect

Why we are allowed to hold it

For your contact and appointment details we rely on Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR — we need them to provide the care you have asked for — and on Article 6(1)(c) where the law requires us to keep records.

For your health information we rely on Article 9(2)(h) — processing necessary for the provision of health care by a professional bound by a duty of confidentiality. Andrew Evans is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and bound by its Code of Professional Practice.

For website analytics and advertising measurement we rely on your consent, which you can give or refuse when you first visit the site and change at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information and we never share it for marketing. We do use a small number of trusted suppliers who process information on our behalf under contract:

We will share clinical information with your GP or another healthcare professional only with your agreement, or where we are required or permitted to do so by law, or where there is a serious risk to someone’s safety.

How long we keep it

We keep clinical records for a minimum of eight years after your last appointment, in line with professional guidance for chiropractors. For anyone treated as a child, records are kept until their 25th birthday. Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted within 12 months. Accounting records are kept for six years as required by HMRC.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to object to or restrict how we use it, and in some circumstances to have it deleted. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time.

Please note that we cannot delete clinical records before the retention period above has passed — we are required to keep them.

To make a request, contact Andrew Evans using the details above. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right — see our complaints procedure. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are necessary to make it work, and — only if you agree — optional cookies that tell us how the site is used and whether our advertising is working. You can change your choice at any time. Optional cookies tell us nothing about your health and do not identify you personally.
